Eriata Oribhabor, supports BEAUTY OF WORDS 2

Eriata Oribhabor is a poet and front line promoter of Naija languej. He started off writing poetry in the indigenous Nigerian Pidgin being standardised as Naija languej.

Writing in the languej, he authored; “Abuja na kpangba and Oda puem-dem (2011), edited, “IF YU HIE SE A DE PRIZIN” (poems) and “AMEBO YAD” (collection of plays). A former chairman, Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Abuja Branch, Eriata Oribhabor is the author of two poetry collections; “Beautiful Poisons” and “CROSSROADS & THE RUBICON”. He is committed to individual reorientation for societal change and collaborates with several platforms for self and collective dreams realisation.

Eriata is the Editor, WUSHAPA – Beating the Drums of Peace; a collection of poems dedicated to a sleepy community in the Bwari Area Council of Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT). One with sense of a
simple lifestyle, he is a lover of the streets where he once hawked various items in Warri, Nigeria; his place of birth. Eriata is passionate about hospitality and tourism beyond the pages. He is a lover of foods and adventures in eating new meals. Inspired by this, he initiated an annual food poetry contest.

The 2014 edition of the contest led to the publication of the boom; Who Shall I Make My Wife? (Collection of food related poems). If in your opinion, Eriata Oribhabor has been the gum, jaws and words “ruling” the tongues of hundreds of poets and writers in Nigeria, you might be closer to a truth because he is deeply committed to growing poetry reading and writing amongst Nigerian youth wherever resident and by extension global poetry.

He is the initiator of Poets in Nigeria (PIN) – a none governmental literary organisation promoting poetry in all ramification whilst connecting poets for greatness. He is that simple and easy going poet always up for justice and equity building bridges of hope across borders. He does more reaching out via Facebook. He is
