Summer of Expressions with Brainbox is a social-emotional learning
program designed to help young people within the ages of 15 and 25
become leaders, from discovering self and using the knowledge to better
their lives. Over the last few years, Brainbox has worked with at least
500 teenagers around the country from the shyest to the most exuberant
and it’s been a wonderful experience enabling them gain access to their
inner strength and express judgments on personal or social issues, thus
changing the world around them.
For 3 days meeting with the spoken word
artist and a team of social facilitators, literary giants and impact
consultants, participants will experience inspiration and growth through
storytelling, performance poetry, mentorship, good music, social
awareness and adventure board games. There will also be a special
writing workshop under the Words, Rhymes and Rhythm’s CSR, YouthENGAGE,
particularly for those that demonstrate literary ability. So
participants can come along with their creative works for improvement.
Other amazing features of the encampment include open reading sessions,
social brainstorming with NULAI NIGERIA (Amber Alert for Social Justice)
and a spoken word/page poetry competition levered with gifts and cash
awards.
Summer of Expressions with Brainbox is
birthed by Impact Speaks and primarily endorsed by WordUp411, Sevhage
publishers, Decipher Solutions, Egunec Education Support Foundation and
Nelson Williams Promotions, organizers of Nigerian Teens Choice Awards.
